Whenever I talk about phones with my friends, the discussion always gets diverted towards Android. I must say, discussion about smartphones is not interesting without Android. Nowadays, Each and every low-end or high-end device is packed with Android OS. Today we are going to talk about the two most competitive and demanding medium-range Android phones i.e. HTC Explorer vs Samsung Galaxy Ace.
You might have come across advertisement of HTC Explorer on TV. HTC Explorer is a recently launched device by HTC for social networking and Android lovers. Whereas Galaxy Ace is comparatively an old player in market and is already in the hands of lots of people. As we all know, competition brings better value for money.

HTC Explorer Vs Samsung Galaxy Ace

HTC Explorer: 57.2 x 102.8 x 12.9 mm, Weight: 108g
Samsung Galaxy Ace: 59.9 x 112.4 x 11.5 mm, Weight: 113g
Both the devices are beautiful and attractive equally from outside as well as inside. Whereas HTC Explorer is completely a Black colored round shaped edge device without shiny finish but Galaxy Ace is both round edge shaped and shiny in finish. According to my opinion, Galaxy Ace looks more tempting.

The screen size of HTC Explorer is 3.2-inches and it offers the HVGA resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. The color capability of device is 16 Million colors. Almost same is the case with Galaxy Ace, it is featured with 3.5-inches screen and offers the same HVGA resolution of 320 x 480 pixels with same color capability. HTC Explorer and Galaxy Ace both the devices are pre-installed with same version of Android OS i.e. 2.3.3 Gingerbread. But Explorer is integrated with HTC Sense UI and Galaxy Ace is with TouchWiz 3.0 UI.
Processing & Backend Power
Processor is the heart of smartphones. The performance and power of the device is dependent upon its Processor & RAM. The processor with which HTC Explorer is powered is 600 MHz Qualcomm Scorpion. Whereas, Galaxy Ace is powered by 800 MHz ARM 11 processor. I would like to say that, I haven’t used the HTC Explorer so it is not possible for me make any conclusion on the performance rating of Explorer. However, I am aware of the performance of Galaxy Ace which is really appreciating and noticing. Galaxy Ace works smoothly with good amount of apps and games installed but the device gets heated when excessive use of game or Wi-Fi is practiced.
Both the devices have dedicated Graphics Processing unit i.e. Adreno 200, so need not to worry about the Graphics performance of the device. Whereas, the RAM of Galaxy Ace is 278 MB which might not be sufficient for heavy multitasking but HTC Explorer’s RAM is of 512MB which can support processor in a better way and help providing better performance.
