Talking about the design, the Samsung Wave 525 is not that attractive from its design and comes with the plan shape. The touch screen display of the handset is 3.2 inches having 240×400 pixels resolution. The volume rocker is found on left and the power/lock and dedicated camera on right. There are audio jack and microUSB port on top of the handset.
On the other hand, the Samsung Star II Duos is a better phone when it comes to its overall design and appeal. The handset is featured with three buttons at the front. The touch screen of the phone is 3.2 inches with 8.1m capacitive TFT touch screen. It can thus be said that as far as looks is concerned, Star II Duos is the clear winner.
Talking about the music quality both the handsets do great. The Wave 525 performs nice and the quality of sound is good. The headphones deal well with bass. The music player of both the phones is easy to use. In case of Wave 525, the controls take some time to respond and the phone should have been featured with the in-line controls and the dedicated music button.
Camera Lens Performance
Both the phones have around 3 MP cameras. However the Wave 525’s 3.2 MPcamera is not featured with the autofocus or flash. The picture quality is okay with this handset but the images clicked in low light have a bit of yellow tinge.
On Wave 525, the camera is simple to use with the dedicated button on handset. The button is small but nicely placed and easy to use. But you have to be careful of not putting the finger on the lens because it is a bit close to the case’s edge.
On the other, the Star II Duos’s 3.1 MP camera is decent enough to click the pictures at the 2048×1536 pixels resolution. This camera is even capable of recording the video in QVGA mode @15fps. No LED flash support is there and there is no secondary camera as well on the Star II Duos.
When we move forward to compare the two phones, the Samsung Wave 525 has access to the net however lacks 3G connectivity. But you can definitely get connected while on the go with Star II Duos. The phone is featured with widest and fastest Wi Fi connectivity. The handset also offers the customers the simple mail setup for the famous services such as Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo. The Bluetooth 3.0 of the phone makes pairing with the other devices convenient and fast.
As among these two devices, Star II Duos is a dual SIM device and it is for sure that it will offer less battery backup in comparison with the single SIM device Wave 525 with Bada OS. But both the phones can atleast offer battery backup upto 1-2 days.
So, it can be said that both phones are affordable and offers quality features to the customers at the reasonable price tag attached. But the Samsung Star II Duos is a better option to go with than Wave 525.
