What Features to Look Out in A Smartphone Before Buying it? Check it Here

Are you looking for a Smartphone? But don’t know how to find the best one for you? Here comes the duty of us to guide you. Nowadays, the market is full of Android, Blackberry, Bada, Windows Phone Smartphones and iPhones, but which one you will buy?

Smartphone

Thinking about this question makes you puzzled in the pool of Smartphone devices, but our mission is to get into this smartphone pool and come out with the best choice. There are a few measures which you need to follow before purchasing a smartphone,  lets see what they are:

Processing Power/Performance

Processor

Processor is called as “Heart” of the device. It is one of the most crucial hardware which is responsible for the performance and usage experience. These days almost every smartphone is packed with 1GHz processors but still there are mid-range devices which are packed with lower processors. However, the processors which are of good quality are Qualcomm, Nvidia or MediaTek. If you are getting any processor among those is your smartphone, its good but do check the ‘numeric digit’ i.e. clock speed.

However, RAM plays a vital role, because it defines the multitasking capability of the device. If the processor is good and RAM is enough, your phone will be a beast.

Touchscreen & Display Quality

AMOLED, Super AMOLED, Super AMOLED Plus are the type of displays which are integrated into smartphones these days. Make a wise choice by selecting that display which offers better visibility and bright usage experience.

Touchscreen found in smartphones are of two types

  • Resistive Touchscreen
  • Capacitive Touchscreen

Both these types of touchscreens offer totally different touch experience. However, resistive screen is a bit tough to use and is less responsive. Whereas, capacitive touch screens are best to use and are very responsive in nature.

Operating System & UI

There are two aspects of device, first is “Front-end” and second is “Back-end”. Processor and RAM are counted as the back-end power of the device. Whereas, Operating System & UI comes under front-end section.

There are various Operating System Device available in the market like Android, iOS, Blackberry OS, Windows Phone 7 OS and Bada. Making the choice among these OSes depends upon the usability and versatile nature of the operating system. If you are a user who wants extreme customization and flexibility in your device, Android would be the best choice. But if you want to use simple and easy to use OS then go ahead with a Windows Phone 7 device.

App & Game pool is dependent upon the operating system, Android and iOS both have millions of apps in their market/store. Windows Phone 7 & Blackberry OS are also racing on the same track.

Connectivity Features

Smartphone’s real power can only be extracted with the help of its connectivity features. Smartphone is mainly known for its power of processing and extraordinary internet experience.

Make sure your phone is leashed with all the features like Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, NFC (Near Field Communication) and Wi-Fi Hotspot.

Wi-Fi Hotspot is becoming one of the most important feature because it enables you to make your phone as a Wi-Fi device to offer you internet of phone’s data plan over Wi-Fi.

Battery Backup

High-end processors and bright screens make devices a low battery backup device. Each and every entity has its positive and negative aspects. So make sure, you choose the smartphone which is capable of offering you with at least battery of 20 hours.

If you are the one who travels a lot, then a low battery backup smartphone will become a useless device and will not offer any pleasure of being a smartphone.

Miscellaneous Features

Last but not the least, basic features of the phone make smartphone a complete phone. I am talking about the features like audio/video formats playback support. After all, you will load your smartphone with lots of photos, videos and audios. What if device format support is very limited? Waste! So do check out that too.

I hope I had helped in you choosing a better smartphone for you. If I missed anything, do let me know via comments.
