Samsung Galaxy Nexus vs Sony Xperia Neo L : Comparing the Android 4.0 Phones!

Android 4.0, named as Ice Cream Sandwich, is now beginning to expand and very soon it will replace Android 2.3, named as Gingerbread, as the top Android version. Actually, most phones were coming with Android 2.3 version but now in a few weeks , most phones and tablets will come with Android 4.0 version. And well, the start of this change has already begun. Many tablets with Android 4.0 have already been launched and now, Sony has come with its first. So, in this post I will be comparing Sony’s first Android 4.0 phone to the world’s first Android 4.0 phone. So, let’s begin the comparison!

Well, the main thing which led to this comparison was the operating system of these phones. This comparison is to find which Android 4.0 phone is better. Both the phones have the same operating system so they cannot be compared in this round.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus – Dual Core 1.2 Ghz Cortex-A9

Sony Xperia Neo L – 1 Ghz Scorpio 

The processor of a phone is no more ignored as it was in previous years. Now, before buying a phone, people make sure that the processor of the phone is fast. So, the processor is now given more importance than ever before. Well, the clock speed says it all. Even a difference of .2 Ghz makes a difference, not a huge one indeed but it does make a difference. Well, this small difference gives the round to Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

Memory

Samsung Galaxy Nexus – 16 GB Internal, 1 GB RAM, No Card Slot

Sony Xperia Neo L – 1 GB Internal, 512 MB RAM, Memory expandable up to 32 GB using microSD card

Well, the memory specifications are varying here. Galaxy Nexus has 16 GB internal memory but it cannot be expanded as there is no card slot. Plus, it has 1 GB RAM. On the other hand Neo L has 1 GB internal memory and 512 MB RAM. Memory is expandable up to 32 GB. Comparing here would be quite difficult. Actually, the price of memory cards has increased and it will be better to directly buy a phone with more internal memory. Also, Neo L has less RAM as compared to Galaxy Nexus.

Camera

Samsung Galaxy Nexus – 5 megapixels rear camera, 1.3 megapixels front facing camera, 1080p@30 fps

Sony Xperia Neo L – 5 megapixels rear camera, VGA front facing camera, 720p@30fps

The megapixels of both the rear cameras are same but Galaxy Nexus has a better front facing camera and better video quality. Also, Galaxy Nexus has better camera features which makes it the winner hands down. Well, good work by Samsung in the camera region.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus – GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v3.0, NFC and microUSB v2.0

Sony Xperia Neo L – GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v2.1, and microUSB v2.0

Well, there are usually not much differences in this section but this time there are. Neo L has quite inferior specs in this section. The bluetooth version is older and there is no NFC which is the latest trend in the gadgets world. These two problems gives Galaxy Nexus this round as well.

Sony Xperia Neo L – Dimensions: 121 x 61.1 x 12.2 mm, Weight: 131.5 grams, Screen: 4 inches, 480 x 854 pixels, LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen

Galaxy Nexus even though has more weight than Neo L, its screen size is .65 inches bigger and it has a better resolution and screen quality as well. All of these features sum up to yet another victory for Galaxy Nexus.

Well, we cannot compare the price of these phones because the price of Xperia Neo L is not revealed yet. Well, the result of this round would depend on the price of Neo L.

Conclusion

Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the first and the best Android 4 phone currently and well, this comparison proves that at least it is far better than Sony Xperia Neo L. Well, Neo L won no round and the majority were won by Galaxy Nexus ad the remaining were either tied or resulted in Depends.
