Google Adsense is a great way to monetize your blog. It is hard struggling work to earn money through your blog. Few days back, I have talked about alternates to Google Adsense, but if you are having Google Adsense with you, it’s great news.
If you do add Adsense ads to your website/blog, here are the few tips to increase your income:
Keep the Ad formats Constant
Majority of the webmasters use the medium rectangle (300 X 250) and horizontal banner (468 X 70). This format usually results in higher CTRs (Click-Through-Rate). This format makes the ads looks like normal weblinks and gets easy clicks.
Use Custom palette
Choose those colors for your ads which go well with the design pattern of your blog. If your blog has a white background, try using white as the color of your ad border and background. This will result in more clicks from users visiting your blog.
Put Ads at the top of the page
Always try to keep ads in the eye catching area of the blog. Putting ads at different locations can create a difference in your earnings.
Focus on Specific Topic
Adsense for content focuses on the content of your page. Visitors to your page are there to read about your topic and will see relevant ads, generate interest of your visitors, to click on ad.
Use Competitive Ad Filter
Login to your Adsense account, go to Adsense Setup, and then Competitive Ad Filter, you will see some great options that will help you earn more. This filter is very helpful because you can block certain sites from being displayed on your website. So you can block ads that do not relate to your blog, block ads that do not pay much, or filter out other sites of your choice. You can also find the pre made list of sites whose should not be suitable for your blog, just copy the list and enjoy the terrific increase in your earnings.
Although in the early days you may feel that Adsense is not paying enough or producing insufficient click throughs, but this can change dramatically as your visitors increase month by month and should you ever reach the point where you have 20,000+ visitors per month, then you will be very glad you have fully optimized your Google Adsense.
