  1. Hello Jagmeet!
This is an interesting update. I am expecting a good change from Nokia but I don’t think that it would ever catch Google or Apple either in applications or the device sales.

    Best Regards,
    John

  2. Thank you for the article. However, I think some information seems to be wrong or outdated. According to Nokia’s CTO, the device will ship in 2011.
Also, it is very likely that processor, camera and memory will have better technical data. Even the never released N9 which should have been available end of last year was planned with better hardware.

  3. Put Windows Phone on it and it’d be perfect :)

  4. Nokia will never catch up? They’re leading the race by a huge margin:

I’m assuming you’re from the US and you don’t realize it’s not the same everywhere as in your country…

  5. If you say put Windows on it, you’ve probably never had a Windows Phone!
I waited for a Meego phone, but in the end got the N900 Maemo 5 phone.
Nokia should have released more Maemo phones while they waited for Meego – it is BRILLIANT. Even better than android.
I owned two Windows Mobile phones, and I will NEVER EVER get a Windows phone again!!
I will probably buy the Meego phone if it has decent specs.

  6. Windows Mobile is not Windows Phone. Windows Phone is a totally new phone OS that was first released back in October.

  7. Meego without a keyboard?!? Have they lost their minds? What bash prompt loving nerd is going to want a linux-based phone without a full QWERTY? I cant believe this…. thats a deal breaker for me. I was really looking forward to this one… too bad.

  8. I hope Nokia upgrade it to support dual-chip.

  9. No HW keyboard is a dealbreaker for me…………

Looks like I’ll be buying a couple of extra N900’s

  10. Totally – alas the smartphone market is now mass market so dumbed down for the average iphone using numpties.

  11. dunno abt wats coming nxt, win or meego, but nokia should come out with emulator soln to run its legacy symbian apps on the new os.

  12. 4G connectivity??

  13. D Stein says:

It actually has a full QWERTY key board (slide out)

  14. im a really big nokia fan but i have 1 prob,(u need to create something to ping, like the blackberry) u guys need to upgrade your software…..im using a nokia n900 and m looking to upgrade to a n950 so hurry and release it….

  15. star guo says:

  17. this is one of the cool device to have…

  18. jpetrise says:

This is not a N950 it is a N9 looking device, the true N950 is devlopr kit only so will not go on sale to the public

  19. jpetrise says:

Its called ovi chat and you already have it on your N900,

  20. I agreed..

n900 is the best phone I ever used. in past I used many win phone + iphone 3 + htc but all of them were just good toys to play none of the phone were as good as my n900 is. NOKIA is stupid not marketing for maemo platform
