Samsung and Motorola both are old and powerful companies in the mobile phone market, these days Samsung is mainly concentrating on increasing the power and range of Galaxy series handsets like Ace, Fit and many more. On the other hand, Motorola is also competing in the market with some of the powerful phones like, “World’s Most Powerful Smartphone – Motorola Atrix 4G”. Motorola Atrix has revolutionized the market with its rock-strong processor and Android OS.
In this article, I am going to talk about the medium range handsets which are based on Android OS. From the Samsung side, I am here with Samsung Galaxy Ace and on the Motorola side, its Motorola Defy, whereas the price of Motorola Defy has dropped recently to Rs. 15,999, but there is no price variation in the price of Samsung Galaxy Ace i.e. Rs. 14,999/-

Motorola Defy Review
Motorola Defy is the strong contender against Samsung Galaxy Ace, this handset looks wider than Ace because it is having 3.7-inches WVGA touchscreen. This handset is also an Android OS based, it comes with Android 2.1 Éclair which is older but no need to worry, its Froyo update has already been released in UK and soon it will be available for India too. You can upgrade it to Android 2.2 Froyo.
MOTOBLUR UI is integrated with Android OS for making user-experience better and delighting. This phone is also known as rugged phone because this phone is specially built for fighting against dust and water, I mean this handset is made dust-proof and water-resistant by sealing the handset’s body with rubber cover for the headphone socket and USB port and its screen is made from Gorilla Glass, which is scratch-resistant and impact-resistant.
The performance of Motorola Defy is powered by 800 MHz processor and its in-built virtual QWERTY keyboard is added with Swype technology.
The inbuilt memory of the phone is 2GB which is quite sufficient in comparison with Samsung Galaxy Ace. It can be expanded with microSD card support upto 32GB.
For connectivity features, it is fuelled with 3G network support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, DLNA and Wi-Fi hotspot.
Coming towards the camera and photography, Motorola Defy is driven with 5 MP LED Flash camera and offer image resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. Same as Ace, it also do not have secondary camera.
