Comparison – Samsung Galaxy Ace Vs Samsung Wave 2 [Detailed Review]

Introduction of Samsung Galaxy Ace & Wave II

Samsung’s customers are increasing rapidly and it seems that this won’t stop even on “apocalypse”! Samsung is a Korean company which aims at becoming a largest mobile seller company in India. Samsung is the largest electronic company in the world with reference to sales and it wants to be the largest in mobile phone retailing in India too. Samsung announced its two phones, Samsung Galaxy Ace in January 2011 and Samsung Wave 2 in October 2010.

Both the phones have already been able to catch too many eye balls which forced me to do the comparison between them. Before starting the comparison I would like to make it clear to you all that Samsung is becoming the favorite brand of many gadget freaks because of its reliability, moderate pricing and versatility.

Samsung Galaxy Ace Vs Samsung Wave 2

Operating System

Operating System is the heart of any smartphone. OS defines many things like, the apps you will use, the format of files you will have and many other important things. Samsung Galaxy Ace is powered with Android OS, v2.2 (Froyo) which can be further upgraded to Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) while Samsung Wave 2 is powered with Bada OS, v1.2. Android is far better than Bada as Bada neither support too many apps nor it has versatility but on the contrary Android supports largest amount of apps and it is also very versatile. So the result for the OS battle is quite clear.

Winner – Samsung Galaxy Ace

 Processor and Performance

If OS is the heart of the smartphone then processor acts as nerves of any smartphone. Without a good processor your phone will encounter too much problems which also include hanging and I don’t think that there is anyone who wants to waste his/her time on the phone to get Un-Hanged. Processor of Samsung Galaxy Ace is 800 MHz ARM 11 processor with Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset while Samsung Wave 2 is powered with 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor with Hummingbird chipset. The difference of almost 200MHz can cost you a lot of time so the result is clear.

Winner – Samsung Wave 2

 Storage and Capacity

Storage is something which always matter while choosing a smartphone. I have encountered a serious problem when I was short of memory and missed the killer shots and believe me I don’t want you to face the same problems. Storage capacity of Samsung Galaxy Ace is 158 MB storage which is its internal storage but you can upgrade the memory up to 32GB via microSD card.

Storage capacity of Samsung Wave 2 is 2GB internal memory but likewise Samsung Galaxy Ace its memory can also be upgraded till 32GB via microSD card. There is a huge difference in internal memories but the expandable memories are same so the result is clear.

Winner – Samsung Wave 2

 Camera and Photography

Do you want a smartphone which can even cater your need of a powerful camera? If so then it’s here. Samsung produces phones with amazing pixel count and they have continued this culture by embedding Samsung Galaxy Ace and Samsung Wave 2 by powerful cameras which can even record videos! Samsung Galaxy Ace is powered with 5 MP camera and it also provides you a LED flash but it doesn’t have a secondary camera.

Samsung Wave 2 is powered with a camera of same pixel count i.e. 5 MP with LED flash but contrary it has a secondary camera. You can also shoot videos with both the phones. Samsung Galaxy Ace allows you to shoot vides of QVGA format with the speed of 15fps but Samsung Wave 2 allows you to shoot HD clips with the speed of 30fps, double of that of Ace, and the plus point which Wave 2 gives you is the video light! The results are known to all now.

Winner – Samsung Wave 2

Price

Last but not the least; finally it is always price which matters in the last. Price of both the phones is near to each other but the features of both are far-flung. Samsung Galaxy Ace is priced at Rs. 14,490 or $322 (Approx) while Samsung Wave 2 is priced at Rs. 14,990 or $334 (Approx). Price is quite moderate but you can even go for other phones with much better features.

 Winner – Samsung Wave 2

 Dreambloggers Verdict

Finally the comparison is over and we are here with the results.  The results are actually quite clear but still it’s always mandatory to declare the winner. The winner among the two compared phones is Samsung Wave 2. Samsung Wave 2 is far better than Samsung Galaxy Ace. Another plus point which Samsung Wave 2 gives you is it looks. The looks of Samsung Wave 2 are dashing; it’s large which makes it even more attractive and somewhat harder to carry.

Note: The comparison & Analysis of both the phones has been done on the basis of my personal point of view and expertise. If you have any doubts or views, do share them with me.

  1. There is no doubt that Samsung is really emerged as a winner in 2-3 years. It has taken the crown from Nokia which was ruling it for many years.

  2. You find it very strange that I’m not talking about this review. Actually I want you to publish a post about (CDMA+GSM) phones. I have a very old CDMA number and want to continue with it, plus want a GSM number for personal purpose. But I not getting any good (CDMA+GSM) phone which has all multimedia features. If you can publish that post that would great. Regards!!

    Don’t worry..

  5. I am going for Wave2 mainly because of its large number of features(much more than galaxy ace) and also due to the stunning looks of wave2..galaxy ace somewhat seems to be a copy of iphone in its looks…
1 more thing i would like to know is whether the phones purchased in India work in Dubai also??
Do they need an unlock like an iphone from US when used in india requires an unlock??
