The wait is going to over soon, I am talking about the wait for the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread upgrade for Samsung Galaxy S. Almost every owner of Galaxy S is eagerly waiting for the Android update and today Samsung has officially announced the rolling of update across the globe.
According to the tweet made by @SamKiesUpdates : “SWC = Switzerland (Swisscom) I9000XXJVR/I9000SWCJVR (Android 2.3.4)”
How to update your Samsung Galaxy S to Android 2.3.4?
You can easily update your phone to the latest firmware available by two methods:
- OTA(Over the Air) Method
- Samsung Kies Method
In the first method, you need to go the settings menu and in the software update option; click on Check for updates. If the update is available in your region, then you will be prompted to perform the upgrade, else it is no updates available. But still you can try the second method.
In the second method, first all you need to download the Kies (latest version) from the official website of Samsung.
Attach your Samsung Galaxy S with Kies and it will automatically prompt you with the firmware upgrade message (if update is available in your region). If the update is not available, just wait for few days as Samsung is currently rolling it out in different parts of the world.

Please note: It is always recommended to take a backup of your phone contents before upgrading your phone.
However, no official announcement has been made by Samsung India about this update, but still you can check for the update and do share your upgrade status with us.
