How to Root Samsung Galaxy Note Using CWM Safely? [Tutorial]

We are back with rooting Android again 😛 but this time it’s not about Samsung Galaxy S II, it’s about World’s biggest touchscreen phone i.e. Samsung Galaxy Note. Galaxy Note is an awesome and it has huge number of features like 8MP camera, 5.3-inch HD display and offers the Video calling facility, Conference call and much more. Today in this article, we will learn how to safely root and enjoy your Samsung Galaxy Note in rooted mode.

Android developers keep working day and night to bring the root access to your Android device and we must salute them for doing such a wonderful job. Lets come back to the tutorial, here are the few things which you need to bring up before starting the root procedure

Requirements

  • We need ODIN for flashing the recovery kernel on Samsung Galaxy Note. Download ODIN Now!
  • Next thing we need is “Netchips CWM (ClockWork Mode) Kernel, Download Now!
  • The app which will allow other apps to get SuperUser Privilege, Download SuperUser
  • We need to have the drivers, for drivers you need to download/install which you got in the CD packed in the handset box. Must install it!

Instructions To be Followed

  • Make sure your device is charged more than 60%
  • Do not interrupt or disconnect your phone while the rooting process is under progress
  • Keep your mind cool and relax
  • Do not panic, if anything goes wrong

Let’s start the rooting process, follow the step given below

Step1:

I assume that you had installed and downloaded all the requirements. Now switch off you Samsung Galaxy Note and restart it with the following key combination

Volume Down + Home Key + Power button

And you need to press the Volume Up to continue your phone in Download Mode. It’s time to connect your phone to PC and wait for few seconds until the drivers get installed.

Step2:

Odin Configured

Open ODIN and you will see the interface as shown in the screenshot below. Click on the second button (PDA) in the right side and choose the CWM Recovery Kernel File (.tar).  please make sure on the left hand side only two options are checked i.e. Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time.

Step3:

Hit the Start button and wait until the process gets completed. After the completion, you can disconnect your phone from PC

Step4:

Now its time to root your phone using Recovery Mode, switch off your phone again and restart it using the following key combination

Volume UP + Home Key + Power button

ClockWork Recovery Mode

You will be in the menu of CWM (ClockWorkRecovery Mode), go to advanced and choose “install zip from SD card” and it will list the directories and files in your phone directory and you have to choose the superuser ZIP file and click on “Yes”.

Get back to the main menu, using power button and choose the Reboot system now button and you will see “Exclamation Mark” on the boot screen of your phone. If yes, Welcome to the rooted world of Android :)

    I can’t install superuser from the zip files. I copy superuser (download it from the link that you provide) into SD card. When I use recovering mode, my note abort the installation. Please help me.
